Come To Save Us
Psalms 80 is a woefull tale of how god has forsaken his children. Whoever laid down this dreadful poetry seems to be filing an official complaint, because they have been praying like hell for a long time, and god keeps ignoring them.
Worse, god has let the place go to hell too, with wild pigs eating all his grapes. I kind of sympathize with him, I get pretty mad when the deer munch their way through my yard. But I don’t pray to some mythical being to solve my problems. I get out my tools and go mend the fence.
Asking your god to save you from any hardship is a waste of your energy. It’s a sign of laziness for many. Much easier to pray to god than to actually commit your energy to solving your problem yourself.
