Saving Ferndale
But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping. – 2 Peter 2
There is no worse false prophet in Ferndale than Tyrel Bramwell. His claims of there being a god is the biggest lie he tells on a weekly basis. His greed as a teacher exploits his congregation, as they donate a portion of their salaries every week so that Mr. Bramwell and his family can live a live without doing any thing constructive.
The fact that Bramwell feels he needs to save Ferndale is ironic, because it was a lot nicer place to live before he showed up and started judging everyone. Just yesterday I had two conversations with people that were striking. During the first conversation, a friend named several businesses and former friends they will no longer do business with in Ferndale because of their support for the hatred that Bramwell spews. I agreed, I had curtailed my own business dealings in Ferndale for the same reason.
In the second conversation, a friend mentioned their family was considering moving out of Ferndale, tired of having to deal with the bigotry and racism on display here since Trump made the scene. Ever since Trump began running for president, the racists and bigots who used to hide under rocks have had the courage to make their views public. It gets tiring hearing from these people week after week, and I have to admit, moving out of Ferndale has crossed my mind as well.
I have always hated the fact that it is far, far easier for one man to destroy, than it is for an entire army to restore. When you look at how much damage the Hitlers, the Trumps, the Putins, event the Bramwells do in this world, it’s easy to see that there is no god. Any perfect god never would have created such evil in this world to begin with, and no all-mighty god would allow it to continue when it would be such an easy task to smite just one individual so that millions of innocent lives could be saved.
Bramwell has the right to free speech under the U.S. Constitution. It’s a shame he’s using that right to rip Ferndale apart.
