Our resident bigoted racist is upset this week that some people want to make Humboldt County an area that won’t tolerate hate speech.

Below is the full text of the resolution that was passed. I ask that you read this and see how this could possibly be interpreted as promoting sin or condemning god.

I’ve highlighted the actual action this resolution endorses in the final paragraph. It simply says don’t hate people. Something that really goes against Bramwell’s core beliefs.

RESOLUTION OF THE HUMBOLDT COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS CONCERNING RECENT HATE EVENTS IN HUMBOLDT COUNTY

WHEREAS, the County of Humboldt is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion of all religions, ancestries, and ethnicities regardless of immigration status as well as people of any disability, gender, sexual orientation, or gender identity; and sees diversity and inclusion as essential to the achievement of organizational goals; and

WHEREAS, in response to the increase in hate events in California, Governor Newsom recently signed legislation to equalize and strengthen penalties for using hate symbols and bolster security for targeted religious and community-based nonprofits; and

WHEREAS, all people deserve peace and respect over hate; and

WHEREAS, religious liberty is an unalienable human right, and among the foundations of our
great country; and

WHEREAS, all people are created equal and there is no room for any form of intolerance in our society; and

WHEREAS, there has been an increase in antisemitism, hatred of Jewish people and people of the Jewish faith, in the United States and in Humboldt County; and

WHEREAS, there has been an increase in discrimination, hateful derogatory language and acts of hate towards the Black and Latinx communities, in the United States and in Humboldt County; and

WHEREAS, there has been an increase in bigotry, discrimination, and use of derogatory language towards the Indigenous community, in the United States and in Humboldt County; and

WHEREAS, there has been an increase in hate crimes, discrimination and violence towards the 2S/LGBTBQIA+, in the United States and in Humboldt County; and

WHEREAS, there has been an increase in anti-Asian hate events in California and in the United States.

WHEREAS, the contributions of all members of this community, including Black, Indigenous and all people of color BIPOC, 2S/LGBTIA+ identifying and all religious backgrounds are welcome and valued.

WHEREAS, racism and identity-based hate is wrong, abhorrent, dangerous and contrary to the principles, foundations and values of our nation and county; and

WHEREAS, the County of Humboldt stands for openness, acceptance and diversity; and WHEREAS, residents of Humboldt County should never have to fear for their safety because ofwho they are or who they love; and

WHEREAS, the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors believes we can stop the spread of hatred, bigotry and prejudice and overcome ignorance and inhumanity by teaching love and respect, tolerance, understanding and education; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HUMBOLDT COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS AS FOLLOWS:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Humboldt hereby openly STANDS UNITED AGAINST HATE, joining communities around the State and nationwide to combat divisiveness and acts of intolerance while enhancing and strengthening communities of Humboldt County.
